Plastic Surgeon Weighs in on Barry Keoghan’s Facial Transformation

Hollywood and plastic surgery go hand in hand. Although some celebs are quite forthcoming about their plastic surgery procedures, there are others who remain tight-lipped.

Ever since being catapulted to fame, the Saltburn star Barry Keoghan, who is now set to join the cast of Netflix’s Peaky Blinders movie sequel, has stirred up speculations about undergoing cosmetic treatments. And according to two beauty experts, these rumours might not be completely unfounded.

The actor’s appearance has sparked significant interest around the globe, garnering 1,900 searches per month. Additionally, within the last week alone, Google Trends recorded a 450% growth in searches for “Barry Keoghan plastic surgery,” which also ranked on the top of plastic surgery related searches in the UK for the last 12 months.

Prof. Dr. Fuat Yuksel, a board-certified plastic surgeon and over 30 years of experience in the field, offered his expert opinion on the potential enhancements that the actor might have had.

While the Dubliner has neither confirmed nor denied getting plastic surgery or any other cosmetic treatments, according to the medical expert, there is a strong possibility of the actor getting Botox and fillers.

He said: “Looking at Barry’s face when he was younger, there seem to be hints of fine lines around the outer corners of his eyes. But looking at it now, everything is smoothed out, which makes me think he had Botox for crow’s feet. Also, seeing how the actor’s forehead is so “crease-free” at the moment, he might be getting anti-wrinkle injections there as well.”

Additionally, noting a better projection and fullness in some other areas of the actor’s face, the plastic surgeon believes that it is likely the work of fillers. Prof Dr Fuat said: “Barry’s jawline has the picture-perfect shape and definition now, but that wasn’t always the case.”

“Previously, its edges weren’t as sharp or projected, in fact, they had a softer and rounder feel to them, which is suggestive of dermal filler use.”

The other expert, Dr Gizem Seymenoglu — a registered dentist and medical aesthetician in London — also agreed with Dr Fuat on the possibility of the actor having had a jawline filler for more projection.

However, the beauty expert also drew attention to the changes in the skin quality of The Banshees of Inisherin actor, saying: “His skin almost has a thicker quality to it than before, which makes me think he might be benefitting from non-surgical treatments, such as mesotherapy, microneedling and Profhilo.”

Besides facial cosmetic work, however, it seems the Hollywood star has also dabbled with some cosmetic dentistry.

Looking at his earlier photos, where half his right front tooth had grey discolouration, the GDC dentist noted the possibility of a root canal treatment causing that, as the tooth loses its vitality. However, since his tooth looks perfectly white now, he might’ve had a veneer to hide its “two-toned appearance.” Additionally, the expert suggested a high likelihood of teeth whitening.

Barry isn’t alone in having plastic surgery rumours swirling around him. The rising star’s girlfriend and Please Please Please-hitmaker, Sabrina Carpenter, is also believed to have had some work done such as a nose job.

While historically there has been a greater stigma around males getting cosmetic treatments, the tide seems to be turning, and this could, in part, be due to the increasing normalisation of this among celebs.
